Well what can i say it has been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that, anyway things have not been well as you can imagine. I have been battleing a sorry boat motor (trust me never buy a boat with a 250 evinrude on the back end of it) i went through 5 power heads and 5 lower units since feburary of 2010 thats just crazy. I was finally able to repower my boat and i am looking forward to running this new 250 Merc. this will be the first weekend tournament with the new motor. i cant wait. i will do everything i can to post how the motor did and the tournament results. until then wish me luck. |

Boys ranch

Well i just wanted to let everyone i received a blessing Saturday, I was able to attend the 4th annual Rodeheavers boys ranch tournament. This is a event put on by several people for the boys. I was asked to be apart of this from Loren Murwin. thanks loren i had a great time. The young boys were very respectful and well mannered. In this event we take the boys out from safe light untill noon they can catch what ever they want to bring in to the scales. They have the options to use live bait or artificial. My boy's name was luther a 12 year old who i might add loves to eat!!!! but also loves to fish we chose to go with artificial baits and off we went to several canals He did not catch any fish but not because they were not there, every one he hooked managed to come off before he got them to the boat. But as a kid you know that did not bother him at all. most off the time he just wanted to go fast in the boat which it what i wanted to!!! any way i dont want to bore you with to many details so i will cut it short and say good bye. If you ever have the chance to be involved in this grab it. it truley enhances your inner child to see so many young kids laugh and enjoy life. |

Jacksonville Bass Club Classic

Hello Every one,
Well i qualified for the Classic tournament in Inverness FL with the club For this past weekend. I have to say it was one of the best tournaments i have had in awhile. Saturday started off pretty bad for me by 2:00 i had only caught 2 Bream how sad is that. so i decided it was time to move I went to lake davis part of the chain, and decided to stop at the small bridge in the canal leading to the lake. Man was that a good idea !! i flipped my lure up under the bridge and BAM a 3 pound bass loaded up, when i got him in the boat he started spitting crawfish everywhere in my boat. This was the sign i needed This helped me to change my whole style of fishing from here i decided to go with a carolina rig and yes it paid off big time by landing 14 bass in the last hour and a half. The bad news is that one of my fish died costing me the lead by mere ounces. That night i had the hardest time falling asleep and then staying asleep constantly going over and over in my mind what to do for day two.
Day Two:
Well i decide to go back to that bridge and sit on it all day, And yes it paid off aon day two just the same as day One. I was able to land 16 Bass on day Two. But Much to my displeasure i lost yet another fish, This time like the last it cost me the tournament by .03 ounces. That was the most expensive .03 ounces i have ever seen personally. I would like to thank GOD for being with us, and keeping us safe during the tourny. and for showing me where the fish were hiding. Remember please take care of our lakes, and always try to take a kid fishing.. |

Here are some of the items that are scheduled for the team and any one else who wants to get involved.
In April we have several events coming up. On the 10th there is the Rodheaver boys ranch tournament, and by the way they are still looking for volunteers to help with that event. On the 17th Joni and Friends is hosting an event for handicapped children, They also are looking for volunteers. If you are interested in helping out with either one of those let us know and we will get you intouch with the director of the events.
In may everyone knows that its Wolfsons tourny time. We will be wrapped up in that one for a little while. Also in may is the classic for the Jacksonville bass club.
Last but not least we will once again be holding another tournamnet for kids in the near future. details will be on the site very soon so be sure to check out the annual tourny page, and watch for it. |
